I don't hate Saban. Quite the opposite, I will eternally be grateful for the turnaround he accomplished with our football program. However, now that he is a coach for a rival school, I hope we pound his team into the dirt.

I dont agree with all of it. But my point was the level of hate is pointless, and the things said about him are too. I understand why people are upset, but why cant people just hate Bama I will never understand.

Thanks for posting. I enjoy posting Mandel writings on TigerForumns. For an outsider I think he summed it up pretty well. We had a good coach that left for the NFL, then shortly after he returned to our division to coach a team that dominated us under Bear Bryant. When things get going good it's amazing what can happen to threaten that success and happiness. Bama knows this all too well. It just means we have to work harder at maintaining our status as a top program in collegiate football. I have a sneaking feeling that our desire to win the SEC and NC's are as strong as Bama or any other School in our conference. I love the fact that we have so many coaches in our conference who have won NC's. It puts immediate pressure on any new coach to not only win the SEC but a NC. Look at all the criticism our new coach receives from Bama and other schools while having the best record in the SEC since he's been coaching LSU. Every risk CLM has taken in games to win them has been cheered by LSU fans but criticized by other schools fans. From this experience entered a new word to the English language, "Lesticles". I don't know what all this means or how it will play out, but I do know this, the SEC is much stronger for it and the LSU/Bama games(I won't call it rivalry since Bama does not consider us a rival) will be great SEC football for the near future. This is exactly why I love college football over pro sports. Now for all you Bama fans who frequent this board, rival or not, LSU fans always circle the Bama game as a game we want to win. Even Bear Bryant knew he always got a fierce opponent in LSU every year even though Bama was stacked with better talent. Now that the NCAA has leveled the playing field we can now compete at a higher level. Nick Saban set us up with a top program. Under no circumstance will LSU surrender its success of being a top winning program in college football. And as far has facing our old coach? That just raises the bar to play you guys at the highest level of hard hitting football we can. :geauxtige
