That's what I meant about Gibbs' options on the play. The catcher was 5 feet from the plate, but you can't run over him? BS! I guess he's supposed to just stop and say "you got me". I agree with the "slide to the base" rule, but this one stinks.
yep theyve made adjustments recently but still doesnt change anything. dumb stuff. dude wants to stand in the line of fire be prepared to get your jock knocked off. best man wins. end of argument.
and gibbs knocked him on his ass while sliding. could have ended the dude's career if he had tried to plow him instead.
gibbs is not someone I want to be run over by thats for sure. dude is put together and a freshman at that. although he claimed in an interview he couldnt get to home plate when the ball came out because the other catcher was sitting on his leg. well last night during rain delay the replay showed otherwise. dude was never on his leg. he just gave up on the play thinking he was out. we forgive him.
