Because this isn't the offense we ran vs Georgia Tech last year with Jefferson. Somebody kidnapped him. This is Les Miles' offense. Plain and simple. We are ruining this kid Jefferson with this conservative "just don't phuck it up" offensive mindset. When you finally ask him to pass, he's too gun shy and is indecisive out there. That's why you get the sack or he runs out the pocket for a minor gain. You want your QB to grow, well you're killing this kid. He won't be any good for you by year's end. And Russell Shepard is pissed. That's not why he chose to go to LSU. He should have had 12-15 touches in this game, relieving some of the pressure off of a young Jefferson.
I'm pretty sure that Crowton's gameplan also called for the O-Line protecting the QB and receivers catching the ball...
I truly believe that CLM fired Crowton during the summer and has someone who "looks" like him on staff to fool us. Either that or CLM and Crowton were castrated in a Jet Ski mishap over the summer during a drinking binge on Crab Island in Destin.
I think Crowton was there but JJ and the O line could not produce. Also, I would scrutinize the routes run by the WR. The replays showed a little problem there.
I am going to bed... I don't know why everyone is upset now... this has been the same thing week in and week out. Oh it was ok when you were not improving and lucking out... now you see you should be improving every week. Physical gifted players only gets you so far. Horrible coach all around.
I can't blame the play-calling really.. except the lack of Shepard. I can blame coaching and preparation.. is islstl.. do you know if Crowton is the QB positional coach?
