1. Thats what this season has probably cost my expected life span. Man I hope we have a better offense next year, not that the D did so hot today, but we need some scoring. Oh well another season down, god willing many more to come.
  2. This thread doesn't deserve a reply, but I'm bored. The offense wasn't that bad this year, and it wasn't that bad today. We scored 25 points on one of the best defenses in the nation. What's bad about that? Our defense was one of the best this year too, particularly against the run. The D didn't play their best game today, but there were several plainly lucky plays, including the last one, that probably couldn't really be helped. Not to mentiont that the second half we were playing without our best player on D. Come on, it's not that bad. I haven't seen many people on here giving Iowa the respect they deserve. They don't have a very good run game, but their passing game and defense were both among the best in the nation this year. They were a really good team, and there's no shame in losing to them by 5 points on a lucky hail mary pass as time expired. 9-3 is nothing to be ashamed of. We should finish probably around #15 or so, definitely top 20, and should be a preseason top 10 next year. What's wrong with that?

We get all of our running backs back, all of our receivers back, Flynn got a little valuable big game experience today, and Russell played really well on those late drives (other than spiking the ball to stop the clock and thereby losing the game, but that's beside the point). Our offense will be fine next year, and although we're losing some valuable players on defense, we have depth, so we'll be fine there too.

Don't be such a sour puss. We've got a great program that's in a position to do really well for years to come. Be proud.
  3. The pieces to a great offense are in place. No doubt about it. Our defense has played "lights out" all year except for the UGA game, and 2 plays vs Iowa.

With all our talent on offense, and the perceived notion that they haven't played up to speed given such talent, falls directly on the shoulders of Jimbo Fischer. If you view our offense as a disappointment, then perhaps that's a reflection on why Jimbo wasn't offered the head coaching job??
