#10 in AP. Again, even with the loss, LSU is still a top 10 team. Also, 4 SEC teams in the top 10! http://www.usatoday.com/sports/college/football/appoll.htm
Plenty fine. Ohio state and Michigan must play each other so one must join LSU and Texas with 1 loss. Auburn and Georgia must play each other. Add another LSU will get the chance to unseat Florida. Three. Louisville and VT will be defeated. Five. By season's end there will be only 2 or 3 possible undefeated teams and likely only 1 or 2. But the possibility certainly exists for another 2003 with multiple 1-loss contenders. LSU must win out impressively but could easily finish in the top-5 again. I'll take it. Next year we have VT and all three of our tough SEC opponents at home. It's a schedule made for a national championship run.
I always believed they were overrated anyway. More surprised that Louisville moved up as much as it did for only beating Miami. Pleased as much as one can be that LSU only dropped 4.
Here's a dream scenario. Auburn wins out. Georgia drops one somewhere. Michigan becomes Michigan again and loses a couple, but beat OSU. ND after losing to Mich St., beats USC. Louisville and WVU play each other, so one will lose. VT drops at least 1 game. Hello BCS Nat. Champ game. The re-match LSU vs Auburn!!!
I'm with you. Unlike certain other "Games of the Century" (coughOSU-UTcough) ours actually was one, and both teams should be rewarded accordingly.
Impossible, BCS national title players have to win their conference (after the Nebraska-Miami debacle).
