thanks for the heads up I am recording this one. It's arguably the 2nd biggest win in LSU history just behind the win over OU in the Sugar Bowl. Looks like the full game, 3 hours long. Sweet. I already have the OU game recorded....will make for a nice matinee double header on a lazy Saturday/Sunday.
Damn, what a D we had in 2003. Do those names bring back memories. :thumb: Laron starting as a true freshman.
Also makes you remember how unfortunate it was that Marquise Hill going pro as a junior and what he would have meant to what ended up being a pretty damn good defense in 2004.
Ain't that the truth? Damn, we had another missed PAT. Who was the special teams coach, Peveto?
I spent a semester in Europe that year and I was at an internet cafe watching the play by play on espn from about 2-5 am. It cost me like 30 bucks......what a rip, but it was worth it.
Looking back at the BCS standings, OU could have dropped all the way to #4 in the human polls behind a 2 loss Michigan and STILL would have been LSU's opponent for the BCS championship: 1. OU = 5.11 2. LSU = 5.99 3. USC = 6.15 This was when the human polls were not computed as a percentage of the total number of votes, but rather a whole number of the average of the 2 polls. So another position drop from 3 to 4 would have put them at 6.11, still slightly ahead of USC. That's how ridiculously far ahead OU was in the computer polls, along with their strong SOS. Pretty crazy stuff.
