TigerLifer, the LB is Tim Pope. You're right, but let me say this in Saban's defense. A friend of mine works for a co. that hired some of the football players last summer.....not to get off the topic but yes they did work. Anyway, he quizzed the players about Saban the team, etc. One question was what is Saban like. The response was all business do it right or you're gone...no second chances. The players said the only exception was Tim Pope...he had like nine lives....before Saban let him go. Why? The players said he was the complete package. Big, fast, strong, hit like a truck, could play the game...nobody liked to have to go against him in practice. Put it this way, they said if Pope would have been straight Bradie would have never moved to ILB, he would have stayed outside and Pope would have patrolled the middle. Saban gave him more than enough rope and he couldn't do anything with it. He was one of the top LBs coming out of Fla but no one would touch him b/c of him being a freak....guess Saban thought he could mold a good person out of crap and get him a good football player in the process.....too bad it didn't work.

Biggest roundball bust in recent years has to be Fess Irvin. Carroll Boudreaux is another HS All-American that never did much. Of course, Dale was coaching them.

In the last few years, Derron Parquet is probably the biggest football bust. He was ranked ahead of Devery Henderson coming out of high school -- he was a 4-star top 20 back. Last I heard, he was sitting on the bench at Univ of Memphis behind a true freshman.

1989-1990 Men's Basketball team
I remember being on campus having discussions with friends on that team. I told them that stupid Chris Jackson dribble between the legs and jumper from 23 feet was not going to work in the NCAA playoffs.

The biggest waste of talent with Shaq, Wayne Sims, Vernel Singleton and Stanley Roberts sitting under the basket with nothing to do.

Imagine having recruited these guys and you have someone shooting from 23 feet. I don't know if this is a flop on Chris Jackson or Dale Brown or the rest of the team.

He finished up at Jacksonville St. and had a very good season. 23 TDs, just 2 INTs. Second in all of Div1 (including both divisions) in QB Rating.
