Who do you guys think our best recruit will be in 2005?
No way....he is like #75 on the top 100. We have atleast 15 other guys interested ranked higher than him. He looks mean but isnt he like 6'4 242? That doesnt seem very big for a DE.
DeMarcus Granger, a giant 6' 2" 315 pound DT from Texas ranked as the second best DL in the country by insideres. We are his leader at this point and he is a great one. Had 68 tackles, 17 sacks, 11 fumble fumbles and 6 fumble recoveries as a junior. He bench presses 405, squats 550 and has a vertical jump of 28 inches. He camped at LSU and was impresses a lot by Saban, working out in 100 degree heat he said that Saban didn't have to be out there but he was. we are also on the favorites list for 5 of the top DL in the country and at least 7 of the top 13. We've offered several others that have yet to be ranked.
yes i know hes not even top 50 on most boards but hey, hes the only one i could remember besides RP, who isnt even ours.
Fred Rouse will be the Early Doucet of the 2005 class for LSU.
islstl- All of my UT friennds are convinced that Rouse will sign with Texas because of Perrilloux. Do you think we're in that good of shape with him or do you think we'll get him with a late push?
I've noticed that a lot of top out of state recruits have LSU in their top six or so but the cynical side of me sometimes thinks that they think it's cool to have the defending NC on their list. I hope I'm wrong.
Rouse will go to UT or FSU. I want to get Farr, the TE out of Texas, and Callahan Bright the DT out of PA.
If the most recent TB article about Farr is accurate, we're sitting pretty with him. He looks like a hell of an athlete. I saw him play last year in the state championship and remember thinking that he looked like a man among boys.
We have good shots to get (In order of best chance from highest to lowest):
