beckett strikes out the side in the 1st. pedroia leads off with a solo hr, youkilis follows with a double, manny singles him home. 2-0 good guys still batting in the bottom of the 1st.

Sad to see a WS game played in those conditions. The f'ing season is too long. Hate to see it played in the rain.

Beckett is awesome. But he can't pitch 7 games.

Francis has the sacrificial lamb look. But, it's early.

Brad Hawpe saw a bunch of aspirins his first at bat. K.
    2nd AB, Beckett's curve.........another K.

I've got to get to Fenway. That's a great ballpark.

Love the way the Sox are batting. Doesn't hurt that Beckett is dealing a great game. Geaux Sox!

Beckett is the real deal.....with attitude. That guy just lets it rip and dares you to hit it. Total domination. He must've thrown into the 3rd inning or so before he ever threw a breaking ball. Here it comes mofo, try to hit it.

I'm sure there have been more recent dominant pitching performances in the WS but as I was watching last nite, I kept thinking about sitting in my high school auditorium watching Bob Gibson pitch in the WS.

Maybe the rust is off the Rockies. I think they win tonite.

They've got to. If they don't the fat lady will be warming up at Coors Field.

Wow, GoldenGirl... you were in High School then? I bet that was something! Wiki says that was 1967... ? Three earned runs over three complete games!
    Impressive.

And yes, Beckett is challenging all... COME AND GET IT!

Schilling doesn't seem to be nearly as intimidating on the bump. Rockies up 1-0 top of the 3rd.

Looks like to win tonight, the Sox are just gonna have to out slug the Rockies. I don't think Schilling can keep a tight lid on this thing, unfortunately.

Sox pull ahead with a 2 out rip down the left field line by Lowell!

Sox up 2-1 in the bottom of the 5th.

Schilling could be 60 years old and still pitch 7 innings of 1 run ball in the postseason.

Pretty amazing how he has transformed himself.
