1. Got so fired up whuppin Oregon I decided to start planning for a trip to Tiger Stadium, during next year's fall break. Figured late September.

Been listening to NECK and CALLING BATON ROUGE all morning.

    Who are we playing? TOWSON???????????????????????????????????

What, in LAX? I love LAX, played a bit at Navy.

TOWSON is a LAX school. Go to their athletic page, fooball not even on it.

Not to mention North Texas and Idaho? Yeah, this year (2011) is tough, but Towson?

C'mon, WE ARE LSU. We have got to be better than that. Sounds like something Alabama or UF would pull.

Once in a lifetime trip to Tiger Stadium to see us play Towson? Don't think so

    Towson?????
  2. 2012 season will have to make accommodation for Tam, look for changes
  3. LSU can't make money on 6-game home seasons and must play smaller schools that will play us here and not demand a home-and-home schedule. When we have to start playing in a 14-team league, the OOC situation will only get worse. We won't be playing many big OOC schools.
  4. Have we heard anything preliminary as to how the SEC schedule will change?

Are we going to a 9 game schedule with A&M being the extra game?

I think a 13 game college football schedule is coming soon when we get all these 16 team super conferences all sorted out. We can just start the season in the last week of August. I am sure fans would be excited with the change.
  5. I agree, Red.

If conference expansion is on the horrizon like we all expect it to be, I don't know that teams like Texas, Oklahoma, etc. have been tossed around...but would the SEC REALLY want to, "eat their own"?

Right now, LSU, 'Bama, Oklahoma are all in the top 3....if they ALL were in the SEC--specifically the SEC West, only 1 of them could play for the national title or all 3 could knock each other out by beating one another....

I don't fear competition. I don't fear Texas, Oklahoma or anyone else....but I'd rather play those in bowl games and/or for national titles and not always in the regular season where we beat one another and ruin our own chances of playing for national hardware.

Having said that, I'd rather have an aTm, etc.; schools that have a recent history of promise rather than a dominant one.
  6. I just want meaningful NIGHT games in Tiger Stadium.

I hate early starts! I understand the tv money issue but don't screw up our entire season with stupid day games.
  7. a good friend of mine here that is an ou fan is one of the rare honest ones in that he says basically the same thing. he does NOT want ou in the sec because we beat each other up week in and week out. he doesnt want his team in a conference that is so tough. he knows good and well the road to the ncg would be a hell of a lot harder for ou if they were in the sec.

the sports writers around here throw all sorts of other reasons for not being in the sec, most of them laughable. but they make sure to tell us it is not because ou is wusses and afraid to play in the sec. suuuuure. :rolleye33:
  8. We might see a 13 game season counting post-season games, especially if we go to a play-off system. But I do not believe we will play 13 regular season games because with post-season play that would put teams playing into the next semester and college presidents are not likely to allow that.
  9. Everyone has their price bro. If the money's there, I don't see them NOT approving this.
  10. We may lose the gayterds game every year with the additions
