4* LB out of Nashville, Tennessee. As our push for more LBs in this class intensifies, Phillips is getting more looks and attention from the staff and even other recruits. 6'3" 231, which is great size for a freshman. Currently committed to Oklahoma. Definitely some LSU interest, but not sure how likely he is to flip. I have heard we have a shot at flipping this kid even without Gay but all of the sudden the LB recruiting has become very interesting and confusing. We could end up with 3 more or none.
It says a lot that Stoops and his gang leave Phillips and the "unofficial" visit to LSU is still in play. He might say that he's an OU commit, but his family's wallet in BR says something even louder.
I talked with the guy who heads up the OU rivals site and he sort of gave me the cold shoulder when he found out I was asking if this kid could flip to our side.
