i read that this morning (thought your thread title sounded familiar).

honestly, is there any way JR doesn't go in the first round?

Is 270 pounds a bit of an exaggeration? If he is really that heavy I hope he loses some weight. It can't be true because he was running all over the place plowing over LB's. I doubt Russell is considered a diamond in the rough. If he lights up the rest of his games I's be surprised if he wasn't a 1st rounder.

JR could be a first rounder this year if he continues to do well but I see him going more in the second round this year though. I think he would definitely be a first rounder if he came back next year to play his senior year for LSU.

A lot of scouts will be at that Arkansas game. He needs to have the game of his life under pressure to guarantee his way into the first round of next years draft. Another game like Tennessee and he's likely going 2nd round.

I also think he needs to stay next year. He's still making the same mistakes over and over again. Plus he lacks good coaching.

Wasn't it a CFN article that raked him over the coals last week?

This article is basically a knock on Jimbo, saying all JR needs is some good coaching.

I think so. Here is what the roster lists him as:

2 JaMarcus Russell QB 6-6 260 Jr. 2L Mobile, Ala. (Williamson HS)

I thought that I read somewhere where he is currently in the 250's. No one will ever mistake him for Fran Tarkenton but if he is 270, he sure moved well last Saturday. Are we ready for the wishbone or the veer ?
