Decided to see how many teams had 3 real good starters, doesn't look like it to me.

ERA of the 15 top ranked teams 3 weekend starters.(Baseball America last week.)

    Cal St --2.06, 2.6, 4.14
    Tulane--2.60, 3.98, 4.60
    Oregon St--1.31, 1.83, 4.18
    Miami--1.9, 5.59, 5.84
    Texas--2.52, 2.58, 3.12
    Nebraska--1.64, 2.21, 3.19
    Ga Tech--3.11, 4.50, 3.29
    Arizona--3.66, 3.75, 5.60
    Tenn.----1.81, 3.34, 4.83
    Baylor--3.17, 3.48, 3.91
    Florida--2.92, 3.94, 4.91
    LBSU---2.02, 2.32, 2.38
    Bama---3.06, 3.56, 3.94
    UNC---2.65, 3.84, 4.71
    Rice --1.97, 2.61, 3.14
    LSU--2.16, 3.12, 4.60

I'd say LSU is comparable to most, better than many. Seems like a lot of teams are having a hard time finding 3 very good starters other than Rice, Long Beach St, Texas & Nebraska. This surprised me when I looked the stats up.

Oregon State's numbers are pretty impressive, considering the conference they play in. Noted they moved from 8th to 3rd in one poll. I don't know anything about them and am wondering how good they are. Have never paid much attention to the Washington and Oregon baseball teams.

I saw that 1.31 and 1.83 and thought: "Dayum! I don't want to be in their regional."

those are some good era's for college. All I can say is thank goodness Cal State no longer has Jason Windsor.

Miami's ERA is alarming. They must average more runs than anyone in the country to be winning with those numbers.

hard to believe so many college teams have great era's across the board against aluminum bats. parity is alive and well. id prefer having half those guys camped deep on our bench.

I don't know about that. They play some pretty good baseball on the left coast.

OSU, LBSU, Rice and Texas all have pretty good ERA's for 3 starters in this day and age. OSU's 1 & 2 guys must be pretty darn good no matter who they are facing I think. I wouldn't want to be facing those 2 in a Super.

The Big 12 either has a lot of good pitchers or weak hitting teams.

I think Tirk answers the question.

"hard to believe so many college teams have great era's across the board against aluminum bats. parity is alive and well. id prefer having half those guys camped deep on our bench."
