Ron Higgins, an LSU boy, criticizes CLM for "playing not to lose" in OT. http://www.commercialappeal.com/news/2007/oct/14/miles-calls-plays-not-to-lose-but-cats-didnt/ But it's clear to me that 4 straight runs were the result of the coaches having absolutely no confidence in the LSU passing game. None. Someone on this forum called me Chicken Little last night. But unless you're blind, LSU is in shambles right now. Muschamp and his Auburn D are licking their chops.
Shambles? We lost to a #17 SEC team that could quite possibly represent the SEC East in the SECCG. We played pretty bad, and we need to fix some things, but we are hardly in "shambles." Michigan is in shambles.
Okay, have your fun. But I dare one of you to say you're confident that when Auburn loads the box all game and dares Matt Flynn to throw, he and his receiving corps will get the job done.
As long as you come back and admit your slight when Flynn and company put up over 250 yards passing next week and smoke Auburn like a Cheech and Chong movie.
Looked at in context, the calls were not horrifc. They certainly could have been better. But Matt had no confidence in himself or in his receivers. The receivers had no confidence in Matt or in themselves. And the coaches had no confidence in either. Result: Hester and Scott time. And a loss. Better get the confidence issues fixed quickly. War Eagles fly into Baton Rouge in six days.
this just in from Las Vegas: News Flash: LSU lost in triple OT to a scrappy UK team at their home. LSU has a few issues that have been around for 3 games now that culminated in a 3 Ot loss to that same UK team. ( gimpy FLynn, NO EARLY, Offensive Line injuries..causing some pass protection issues ) However, at this VERY moment THE HAT ( Miles ) is working on the issues, Early is back, Flynn is back and the O line is re-dedicating itself to its former excellence! LSU scheduled to be back on track by game time Saturday, bet accordingly, & say two hail mary's cause they don't hurt a thing.. :thumb:
