    orlando rocked

orlando was awesome. ok so this is going to sound insane. first of all i'd like to say go :lsug: because iowa sucks. so i was in orlando and of course everyone in the parks was showing their  team spirit and wearing their LSU clothes. well, i was curious if anyone was there, one of the many louisiana people there... if you know of/were a guy who was in orlando. he was wearing a blue shirt and blue checkered shorts. tall, brown hair. brother who was real stylish with white hightops and peace signs. :thumb:. this would have been on thursday. went on the hurrican ride. sat next to him? so if anyone knows who i'm talking about, maybe you're him or go to school with him or something that'd be spectacular. because i err forgot to get his screen name and stuff so it's a real bummer. would be awesome. thanks mucho. let me know and email me at [email protected] ([email protected]) ciaoo fellow tigers. roar:lsup:

I have to disagree and I'd like to hear from others who disagree as well. In fact I would rate this by far the WORST "tourist city" I've ever visited in my life. From public transportation to the service industry this city ranks DEAD LAST in my book.

EVERYTHING, from rent cars to theme parks were WAY overpriced. Having taken public transportation in places like New York, Atlanta, Las Vegas, I thought Orlando would be relatively easy to get around in. WRONG! By the second day I was at the rent car company. $32 per day was the quote. Not bad, right? WRONG again. By the time they added all their "hidden" fees it came to $54 per day!!???!!?? For a compact car!

As for the theme parks. A walk through New Orleans is by far more entertaining. And as for the rides. Well I can't even comment because I refused to stand in line for an hour to ride one.
On top of that in order to see the theme parks within in the theme parks it cost another $78.

Don't get me wrong. I don't mind shelling out the bucks - I was there wasn't I - but to me it simply wasn't worth it. In fact, unless LSU plays a bowl game there that was my LAST trip to Orlando.

What saved the trip for me was seeing all the great LSU fans and of course the game itself (except for the last play). I have to say that Iowa fans are also great fans. They really support their team and I had a fantastic time trying to outscream them in the South end zone. Thanks Hawkeye fans for being true fans and not crossing that thin line into being obnoxious.
Tiger fans we were outnumbered about 60-40. I was a little disappointed in that but I expected it after all that has happened the last couple of weeks.
Anyway, that's my take. GEAUX TIGERS!!!!

I would also imagine that LSU fans were outnumbered because Iowa knew for sure two weeks before LSU did that they'd be playing in the Capital One Bowl. The Iowa fans probably bought many tickets from the bowl directly (which is what I've done most of the times that I've gone to bowl games).

    LSU fans vs Iowa fans

Iowa certainly outnumbered LSU at the game...post game really did show that, but you would never know from the crowd reactions during the game. The Golden band from Tiger Land was much better than ours and the interaction between the band and the fans was much better on LSU's part.

I don't know how you would rate the tail-gating situation. Remember that most Iowa fans flew down there, while I would guess most LSU fans drove (?). My point is, LSU had the equiptment (RV's, etc...) to out-tailgate us. However, the number of Iowa fans that were tailgating outnumbered LSU...I think a lot of LSU fans went in the stadium instead of tailgating.

I love the I...O...W...A... chant after touchdowns, props to Iowa fans. What was the song played by the band that would instantly fire up the LSU fans? Was that Catch that tiger?

Finally major props to the LSU woman that gave my sister and me victory champagne...after that, talking trash to the defeated LSU fans wasn't as fun

It's simply called Pregame... The three notes played can be said is Hold That Tiger.....

Honestly... Being in the band on the field I felt LSU was outnumbered almost 2-1... When we scored that TD at the end of the first half I looked around and saw a lot of the LSU side was not making any noise.... I was shocked...

On the other hand... At the parks when we marched I thought LSU outnumbered Iowa 20-1....

For those of you who don't know, the band marched down Main street in Disney World... Stopped, played Pregame and ran down the street....

In Universal, we did the same thing... except THREE times.... and this time, the fans FOLLOWED us! We all noticed the cheers were getting louder each time we played pregame, but we didn't know why, cuz the fans were thinning out in the streets.... When we finished we turned around and saw tons of LSU fans packed in the street following us chanting! All of us agree that it was one of the greatest experiences outside of Tiger Stadium possible....

On another note, the Tuba section was attacked by an Iowa fan... :po: He was quickly taken out by a police officer....

Great game... I was VERY mad that we played our Pregame towards the Iowa side though...

I sat in the south endzone, pretty much between the LSU half and the Iowa half...in my opinion (as an Iowa fan) the LSU fans were louder...

20-1 was probably because the LSU fans stuck around to watch, us Iowa people were taking advantage of short lines...

Props the Iowa fan who attacked the tuba section...look to Tom Arnold for responsibillity...he once paid an Iowa student to tackle the Florida mascot

Iowa fans were mad also about the position of our band, it was hard to hear at times...in fact I couldn't hear "in heaven there is no beer." oh wait, that was probably because I couldn't hear myself think after Warren "All the way" Holloway scored!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
