This is the first chance I have had to post here since the game last Saturday. My wife and went on down to Destin, Fla. after the game for a few days and I didn't have computer access (and didn't want it). Obviously I'm glad we won but I hate it that this game seems to have some controversy every year no matter who wins. I won't comment on anything about the calls because it has all been rehashed enough and I for one have not seen any videos of any of the plays. I will say it was a hard fought game that neither deserved to lose. It was old fashioned smashmouth football and LSU has nothing to hand heads about. I will say I was part of a great tailgate party with a large group and Auburn and LSU fans. The LSU fans cooked lots of good Cajun stuff and I even had hogshead cheese for the first time. It was lots of fun and lots of folks got back together after the game. I hope LSU wins out from here and if we should stumble ya'll represent the West.
Thanks, darlin'. You'd have to stumble twice for LSU to make the SECCG and I ain't betting the house on that happening. I'm kind of like Charles Barkley and I have a feeling that Auburn can be beaten, but its hard to say who exactly is going to do it. Four SEC teams in the top 10 is always a good feeling, but any of them can beat any of the others and regularly do. I'd be delighted with this season just as long as one of us gets to play Southern California.
Nice post and I will add that as an LSU fan I was treated very well by all AU fans at and before the game............BUT this series does not have controversey every year....I know I know last year AU missed 5 fgs and LSU dropped 2 tds but those are mistakes by players and the teams on the field and that happens BUT there is controversy only at AU and that is because the officials at AU make terrible calls.......im not rtying to be bitter but that is just a fact and despite those facts LSU should have won the past two years
Thanks for the kind words Proud Tiger. Congrats on the win and we look forward to getting another shot at Auburn in our place next year.
Actually I was referring to some controversies that were not during the game such as stomping logos, cigars, burning buildings/vans, etc. The good part is that I'm not aware of any such events this year. I talked with lots of LSU fans just walking around campus and everyone was friendly and seemed to be having a good time. I didn't even see any of our "obnoxious ones" acting up.
