If you're a Tigers fan and a user of Satelite radio, your wallet is about to get a gut check. LSU has announced they will be joining the rest of the SEC and moving to XM. The worst part is that they will switch to XM before the start of this coming football season. This means all you folks on sirius have less than 3 months to get new equipment o: and sign up. And dont hold out hope that the announced merger will happen before the season starts. It's been almost 6 months since they announced it and they havent even had an FCC hearing on the matter yet. I wonder how this will affect all you Stern fans out there. Is it worth it to have 2 sat. radio services? I live in LA so I listen to Walton & Johnson (or Mike & Mike if my AM isnt acting up) Of course, If you live out-of-state and you only used sirius at home to catch games, I'm sure someone will be able to help you out with an internet stream... :yelwink2:
Son of a motherless goat!!!! That's the only reason why I convinced my wife to get Sirius and not XM! DAMN that chaps my royal A$$!:angryfire
It's not going to make much a difference......not for long anyway. http://xmradio.mediaroom.com/index.php?s=press_releases&item=1423
I will never switch to XM but I dont live out of state either. That sucks for those who rely on radio coverage outside the state but I would wait it out because I think the merger is going to go through. If not, XM is going to be in trouble again.
To borrow a fall phrase:"NOT SO FAST MY FRIEND!" With all the broohaha that the NAB (National Association of Broadcasters) is throwing up, it could be till after the 08-09 season that the merger is, if ever, approved. I mean look at how nasty some of the NAB's D.C. ad's are. Its already the longest delayed merger in FCC history LINK
