When did the hate affair between you guys and USC start? Was it after you beat us last year for the REAL championship? Or was it the fact that they didn't even get invited to the game because they were the 3rd best team last year? I check out their message boards every now and then and they talk about LSU like they are dogs. Actually they talk about everbody like they are dogs. Where did all the hate come from?
Basically, when they "decided" that they no longer craved the sugar. They made their own rule that the Rose bowl was the national championship game no matter what happened two days later.
It was immediately following all the crying Carroll did after the BCS rankings came out and his beloved team wasn't included in the Sugar Bowl. The way he handled it irked so many of us. Then it just snowballed from there. And had Michigan beat USC, then it would not have mattered. But of course we all know that didn't happen. Maybe we should hate Michigan just as much.
Most of us Sooners thought the right 2 teams were in it. They fixed their little strength of schedule problem to better suit usc this year. Good thing they did, the Big 12 isn't looking to strong.
You got that right. The BCS committee met with one agenda in mind. How do we insure that USC makes the Championship game?
The reason I hate them so much is because the way they act is very similar to a small child. They kinda just decided on their own that the Rose Bowl was half of the national title, and the way they whined and the fact that they did it so much go everyone on their side. Basically what I am tryin to say is I hate them cuz they are a bunch of babies...if LSU would have been in the Rose Bowl and won, there wouldn't be any of this co-national champ biznazz goin on....USC = media/attention whore.....
They agreed to a certain set of rules and lost. They then cried and due to the press caving in to sell thier crappy magazines voted them a paper champion. Win like a champion act like a champion.
USC Hey Sooner, the USC fans are the most childish hypocritical fans on the planet with no one else even coming remotely close. ZERO class! On some of the other Tiger boards they keep coming back. They can't let up about last year. They are desperately looking for validation and the fact that we won't recognize them as co-champs drives then insane. On one forum I asked this simple question and they don't have the guts for a comeback. The question is this: If LSU had swapped schedules with USC last year with the EXACT same results and stats. LSU loses to Cal, etc. and USC beats Georgia twice AND has a conference title game does ANYONE actually believe that the AP would have voted LSU number one at the end of the year? If you believe that you are completely delusional. That's why we say that USC and Notre Dame are and always will be media darlings and everyone else has the cards stacked against them. I wonder if the AP will vote Notre Dame 1A with USC this week.
agreed. this is when i started hating them. IMO OU deserved to be in the sugar bowl. Big 12 was strong last year and OU laid waste to a lot of the times. Also, I believe that if you don't play a conference championship then you shouldn't even be considered. Screw USC, hopefully we will give OU a rematch in the Orange Bowl
The reason LSU fans don't like USC is exemplified by the fact that Matt Leinart wore a f*ck the BCS t-shirt while being interviewed on national television. This was a complete lack of class at best, but the real problem is that the USC faithful really believe deeply that they are entitled to change the rules of the game after they find out the rules aren't going to work for them. That is a sociopathic attitude, and worthy of comtempt from anyone who believes that you should be bound by your own agreements. I didn't notice USC returning any of the television money they received because of the "unfair" BCS system. To put this in perspective, the BCS payoff to schools in major conferences represents a very large percentage of the annual revenue of practically all athletic departments. If the Pac-10 doesn't want to participate in the BCS, that's fine, but it is unreasonable and silly to expect to keep the upside and not the downside of any deal.
