I always loved that feeling of being an underdog in Tiger Stadium with our fans being the X factor. That hasn't happened many times since the '97 Florida game due to the rise of our program. It was my 3rd year at LSU for '97 Florida and had a lot of friends come in to visit for that game. I'll always remember Dan Borne saying "Herb Tyler Ladies and Gentlemen" after he got up from a big hit. We went out to the bars after the game, followed by a little swimming at the apt complex, followed by watching the reply at 2:30am (or whenever they used to air it).
It's weird to think how the field used to get stormed in the early 2000s. I was there. Now it's seemingly beneath us. How things have changed. Due respect to Saban for bringing us back, and to Miles for keeping us there.
I don't know, this one has an underdog feel to it at this point. We started the season as one of the #1 teams, but have lost, and the O has not played to expectation in most of the wins. So, I think if we take this one to them, the place will be rocking, especially since it is a night game - finally!
Oh we are certainly underdogs but I think everyone certainly feels we have the ability to compete and win IF LSU finally plays up to it's abilities. No one is going to be shocked if LSU wins. No one expected LSU to win in 97 nor did anyone really believe we had a chance. I don't doubt it will be loud. Maybe it will rock as much as 97 but that would be difficult. I hope it isn't because I hope LSU is whipping that butt so much it won't necessitate it.
There will be a world of shocked people, many in Louisiana bc they have a firsthand knowledge of a really putrid offense. But mostly in Alabama. Because they are myopic trailer park elitists.
Lot of major newspapers raved pregame about how LSU Bama is the greatest rivalry of our era. It sure lived up to the hype today
