Reading elsewhere that Prothro is still in the hospital. I will not go into all the rumored suggestions for the extended stay. I do find great truth in one statement that I read, "If you have had a family member who has been in the hospital.....you know that NOBODY stays in the hospital for 13 days without it being fairly serious, it doesn't matter who is paying that bill." If anyone wants to share a little love: Fans interested in sending Prothro get well cards can send them to: Tyrone Prothro c/o Alabama Football Box 870323 Tuscaloosa, AL. 35487-0323
I think that's about the coolest thing I have seen posted on here, coming from an Auburn fan for a Bama football player. Major props to you.
It must have just shattered and splinterd in there. I don't know why it would be such a long stay. Good Job Deceks7, thanks for the update. I liked watching that guy play, he was fun to watch. I seriously doubt he will play or at best be as good as he was, but I sure hope he does.
Looked like a clean break to me, he could be having complications with the surgery or caught an infection or something.
I don't blame the University of Alabama for giving this injury a blank check. The medical treatment he receives could mean the difference between walking with a hobble for the rest of his life, to fully regaining the use of the leg and having a fine pro career. I hope he fully recovers.
Correct. He has an infection and is still running a temp. They want to get the temp back to normal before he is released, just as a precaution. I hope I'm wrong but based on what I have read about this injury I doubt he is ever going to play again, certainly without taking a big risk.
Hate to see this kind of injury happen to anyone. Hope they can get things squared away and he can heal properly. One of my best friends was our QB in high school and we were playing at Northwestern State on their turf field and his foot stuck on the turf when the lineman hit his leg and his femur bone snapped. He was screaming and i cant even imagine the pain. He had too many surgeries to count and had metal pins put in. He got infection in their 20 years after it happened and had to go back for more surgery. Hope Mr. Prothro gets better and doesnt have to deal with complications.
