Check it out, makes it easier to see that he did have enough posession, with his foot down, to be considered a catch. You don't have to hold onto the ball when you hit the ground as in the NFL. http://img356.imageshack.us/img356/3630/earlyanim5jl.gif
Sweet! Where did you get that? Message You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to philter again. :thumb:
In the field of play it may not have been a catch however I have noticed a little softness from all officials regarding endzone calls as part of the whole once you break the plane thing. I do admit if it would have been ASU guy catching the ball I would still be holloering foul
Yeah it was a catch and I thought in college if the football popped out after you hit the ground it was still a catch. But I was wrong. In the TCU/Utah game that happened in the field of play and the refs called it incomplete. Early had control b4 hitting the ground but I guess since he had control while in the endzone and then went out of the field of play b4 losing it, is considered a TD. If this had happen to ASU I would still say it was the right call, plus LSU got away with pass interference on a TD pass from ASU.
More and More as the week goes by it becomes settled a win is a win. But the next week on the forum should be live.
I also thought it was a catch. The ground cant cause a fumble but it can cause an incompletion. The receiver has to has full posession before the ball can pop out by hitting the ground which I think Early had. It might not look like it because he did'nt have the ball tucked away good but the ball was not being bobbled. TD TIGERS!!!!!
Yep, especially with that second frame. He clearly has both hands on the ball, the ball is secure, and his toes are touching the turf.
