Fayetteville, Arkansas – Dana Altman has decided being a Razorback is not for him. Tuesday, a day after he was introduced as the new Arkansas Basketball Coach, Altman changed his mind and is returning to Creighton. He apologized to Arkansas and Razorback fans and said it was in his family’s best interest that he returns to Creighton.

Altman said he made his decision after talking to his family and Creighton.

Arkansas said its search continues and they will be using the services of a national search firm.

That should be a flag for folks who are always crying to change coaches. When a mid major coach won't take a job with the facilites of Arkansas it should make us a little more caustious.
It will be interesting to see who their scond choice will be.
If Donavan rejects Kentucky that will be an interesting situation as well.

Because he is unlikely to be able to repeat his success of the last two years. He loses all five starters and is facing a rebuilding year. Fickle Florida fans ran off Spurrier because they expected to be a national contender every year. Donovan may foresee the same future.

Coaching at major basketball schools like Kentucky, North Carolina, or UCLA is a dream for many coaches. The facilities are unmatched, recruiting is easy, the pay will be top, and the fan support is impressive. Coming off consecutive national championships, he'll never have a better opportunity to upgrade.
