The ladies killed it tonight, minus Zonette, who should not have been forced through by the producers simply due to help ratings. What she did out there was a total embarrassment. My top 5: 1. Ordinary People - Candice 2. I Believe in You and Me - Amber 3. Never Gone - Angie (the girl on the piano) 4. Stronger - Kree (brunette country singer) 5. Big Girls Don't Cry - Aubrey The top 3 girls were far above and beyond the rest of the group. I think the two girls who are definitely out are Zonette and Adriana (filipino girl). I would not be surprised to see Tenna, Janelle (blonde country singer) or Breanna make it over Kree or Aubrey. Randy mentioned that they may have to rethink this and have a wildcard added on since the competition was so tough tonight. I think they should expand it to 12 finalists (like in all the previous years) and get 2 wildcards added, which could easily be 2 girls after watching tonight.
I'm quickly losing interest in American Idol. This has been a trend for me the past few years, anyway, but all of the screwing with the format this year has not been great for the show. Also, the amount of time that the judges kept around a boy who looked like a girl and a girl who looked like a boy--neither of whom could actually sing was off-putting. I still think the "girl" who looked like a boy had to have been male. Also, I disliked how the judges kept contestants who couldn't manage to remember a single lyric to a song they had a night to learn on group day in Hollywood. That's bs. If they were to make the show, they must be able to learn songs quickly. Some of those idiots didn't even know a single lyric to songs like "Somebody That I Used To Know" that played incessantly all last summer everywhere. As for the judges, I miss Steven Tyler. Mariah is an absolute bore--a diva with no personality. On the other hand, Nikki Minaj is a diva with a huge personality. I actually like her, and I didn't think I would. Keith Urban is just...whatever.
I didn't realize how much an idiot Mariah was before this show. She cannot form coherent sentences. The longer she talks, the less sense she makes. Horrible choice for a judge. And the "I love you too" back to the audience has to stop. I swear she is just making that up that someone is shouting "I love you" to her. Agreed about putting people who can't sing through to the next round. This isn't a freak show, it's a singing competition. They got that awkward boy with the bushy hair that is in the top 10 guys. He simply can't sing, should not have gotten anywhere near this far.
