Life's tough. You can't just quit. If he was the best receiver the coaches would see that. I suspect he's deluding himself about the success of his rehab. On the other hand, Amp at 80% is probably better than anything USF has at WR.

Absolutely!!!!!! There is no way Miles or Jimbo takes their best receiver and sits him just to play favorites no way no how!!!!!
Have to agree with that also. He should be a great one there if he maintains his work ethic and doesn't look for someone to hand him a starting job. Either way I wish him luck.

Well, good luck to him at South Florida, but it may turn out to be a good thing that he left with all the talent we have at WR. IMO, we're bursting at the seams at the WR position, this was almost inevitable. I'd hate to see such a talent like Hill get little to no PT.

He had the best Spring. Let's build a statue for him - I'll order the pigeons...

John Kerry had the best Spring of any of the Presidential Candidates...

Not a fair shot, huh? I guess a full scholarship to one of the nation's top programs, full medical and rehabilitation support and attention, patience of the fans and staff (two staffs), well-maintained expectations, on and on and on.

Hell, the expectations for kids who come to LSU to play ball are astronomical to the point that they are seldom fair. As fans, we are some of the highest expectation-having sons of guns on the planet and we hold 18 year old kids to very high standards. Amp Hill got a break from that and he was given as much time and medical attention as he needed by the fans, the team and the staff. We cut him loose and told him to get back when he could... and not a moment before, all the while anxiously following his progress, his attitude, his spirits, his rehabilitation...

I am all for a person doing what is best for themselves and their future, but the fact that this kid told a national media outlet that he wasn't given a fair shot pisses me right off. To me, Amp Hill is no longer a kid who went looking for a better situation for himself - now he's a quitter who didn't get a fair shot. What a joke. There was no need for him to say something like that after three years in the program.

Of all the positions on the football field, WR is the best spot to get playing time deep in the rotation and have AMPle opportunity to flash brilliance, get your reps, and get drafted. If he had what it takes, there is no depth chart deep enough to keep him off the field and out of the NFL.

His name is Hill, but I think he's just a big Pile - I hope, for his sake, that he figures out very soon that life ain't about fair shots...

Later, Amp. Thanks for the gracious exit.

I'm with you. I wish him the best. I hated to see him leave b/c of his reputation and the fact that he's bound to be pretty darn good. There are several receivers that would be ahead of him b/c of solid playing time whereas he has none to speak of. I don't see what the big deal is. Talented kid wants to go somewhere he'll have more of a chance to play. I have no problem with that. I don't remember anyone giving Barrington Edwards a hard time for transferring. And if Flynn doesn't win the job this year I wouldn't blame him if he decided to transfer.

Indeed. There's nothing worse than good talent going to waste just sitting on the bench.

I feel the same way, but, if he actually told ESPN that he didn't think he was given a fair chance, then that reeks of cheap shot !

There always seemed to be some inconsistencies when it came to Amp. Amp would say he was nearing 100%, which he's been saying for a long time it seems, & the coaches would talk about what what else he has to work on & getting his leg up to full speed etc.

I agree that he was probably deluding himself into thinking he was doing better than he really was. But best of luck to him, I hope he goes on to do great things.

    the real question is this:

Who gets his coveted jersey number?
