Are you kidding me? Yet another horrible piece of crap written by a horrible piece of crap. In no way would I signify Glenn Guilbeau as an "LSU writer".

P.S. Bama sucks. Just had to throw that in there.

How in the hell can he say "I told you so"? Told us what? That Saban is a better coach than Miles? Based on what? Some "objective" article by an unknown hack who says it's so? Alabama is in better shape than LSU pre Saban? I don't think so. Win totals don't always tell the story and Bama (as someone said in another thread) is a lot like LSU's baseball team right now.

Les did a lot more than maintain Saban's standard. He set a new one and has done more with these players than Saban ever did. The NC? Go back to (I believe) 11/19/02 and see how many upsets had to happen to get LSU into the BCS NC mix. Pure luck.

Les didn't play for an NC last year because of a brutal schedule and blind refs. But he did elevate this program to a lofty status never seen before. What was Saban's pre-season ranking the year after the NC? Not #2, I guarantee you. And the follow up performance was even worse.

Nick should want to be where Miles is right now in terms of program status and expectations. At this point, Miles is a coach on the way up and Saban is a has been.

Check with me in December, Dildeaux. So I can say "I told you so".

    That’s all this is.

    Salary-wise- no dispute there.

Saban had four loses in first year……Miles had 4 in first two. By comparison to Saban's could Miles end up being twice as good?

I do have to say, the posting of this article by a Bama fan who pops up with a post of this nature after not posting for two months definitely gives the appearance of an attempt to flame. I find other's perspective(s) on LSU to be interesting, sometimes very informative........when they're based on factual data- editorials are opinions.

I commend the members who've seen it for what it's worth and didn't get snuckered in and in an uproar. I wouldn't trade coaches, teams, etc. with Bama. Saban's a great coach......let 'em have him, we have a great one too. :thumb:

i think most in here don't take guilbleaux too seriously. but going back to the sporting news rankings.
the sporting news is consistently the most off target, out of touch national sports publication that is somewhat respected nationwide. it's awful, hopefully no one here relies on them for any kind of sprts knowledge.

i read their college fball and pro fball preview while in a waiting room one time, it was terrible.

Glenn Guilbeau is not a legitimate sports journalist. As a result, he has to flame to garner any attention. He is jaded by the fact that he is on the outside looking in which he claims makes him "objective". He needs to change his name to Richard !

I love how Dilbeaux says this article proves that Miles is only popular in LA and I told you so based on Diehart's opinion. He lacks the influence to get readers on his point of view so he bases a whole article on how this one reporter agrees with him so it must be true. :hihi: Pretty pathetic journalism.
