I don't know how much material those of you that are talented in putting together those cool "motivational video" compilations for games have but if I can help, let me know. I have raw HDTV video (perfect 1080i) in the very easy to edit MPEG-2 format for many of the games and have some other games in their raw MPEG-2 standard def format. The HD games are nearly 30 GB each and the standard def ones are around the size of a DVD-r (4.6 GB). I've gotten pretty good at encoding videos but know next to nothing about chopping them up and putting them to a sound track and whatnot. If you're one of those that's talented in this aspect I'd be more than happy to ship the full resolution videos spanned over a bunch of DVDs or even a hard disk as long as you ship the HD back when you're done. So if this is the sort of thing you're into and you simply lack the original video to produce what you want feel free to drop me an email at armsx2tiger(AT)gmail(DOT)com... Please don't ask for the video for your personal archiving of the season.
I'm NOT your man for the job, but I hope someone will take you up on your generous offer. Thanks for making the video available to the talented among us! ldskule:
Can I ask you how you got HD recorded?? I have been looking for a solution with my media center and my STB. At the moment I don't run the vid through the MC because it just doesn't 'look' right, and all of the HD and Pay channels do not show. I have an Hauppage WinTV-PVR-250MCE for the capture card.
I have two systems for it. I have a DVICO HDTV Fusion 5 card that has an ATSC OTA HD Tuner (for over-the-air HD broadcasts from the likes of Fox, CBS, NBC, ABC, etc..) but it also has a QAM tuner (which lets you tune unencrypted digital cable channels). So I have an amplified HD antenna hooked up to that and switch to the cable input when needed. However, ESPNHD, ESPN2HD, and many other channels are not transmitted via clear QAM so normally I'd be SOL. My backup is a firewire connection from my cable box to my PC that has some drivers on it that emulate a D-VHS recorder (Digital-VHS) which can record pure HD streams just like the over the air antenna tuner. I can even have the game record to the DVR and later transfer it. Basically my cable box will pump whatever is showing on the screen over the firewire connection, including ESPNHD and ESPN2HD. The only times LSU wasn't on HD this year was for MTSU and La. Tech. Lately I've been relying on the firewire connection simply because it's reliable and if it's also being recorded to the DVR I can always just rewind if something goes wrong.
do you happen to have anything from last year? i'm making a video that goes for around 1 hour called back to the superdome.
If someone wants to send me the MANY separate files of highlights... i can fuse them together with audio. The TIME consuming part is editing all the clips from the entire game videos. So if someone already has the HIGHLIGHTS clipped send em on over.
I don't have anything to add except......I want to see it!!!! Can't wait and would love a copy! Please let us know when you get it finished.
