Athlon is unveiling their Top 25 one day at a time. Georgia Tech is # 25. Ooo, I can't wait to (u) (s) C who'll be their pick for #1! Tennessee will probably be their # 2. And I can't wait for Lindy's! Money says this Crimson Tide apologist rag has the Red Elephants in the top 10!

Tony Barnyard of the Atlanta J-C and ESPN Gameday favorite has his SEC picks out too,... http://www.ajc.com/sports/content/sports/0505/02sec.html

Great, I'd love to see us beat the #2 team in the country in the third game of the season !

If all of these preseason polls hold, then we will be playing 2 top 5-10 teams (Florida, Tennesee) and 3 more top 25 teams (Auburn, ASU, Alabama).. and Im sure some other SEC teams will crack the top 25 during the season.. anyone who questions strength of schedule because of App. St. will never be convinced.

see, that is the great paradox with S.O.S. you can go in and MAUL then top 10 or 5 team, thus knocking them out of said echelon. and as a result, you get punished for it. i think it is mathematically impossible (or at least highly improbable) that 3 SEC teams finish in the top 10. i mean someone has to lose those games.

It is difficult to do, especially because of the SECCG; but in 2001 the SEC finished with three in the top 7.

    2001 Final AP Poll

    1. Miami (FL) 12-0
    2. Oregon 11-1
    3. Florida 10-2
    4. Tennessee 11-2
    5. Texas 11-2
    6. Oklahoma 11-2
    7. LSU 10-3

Having that upset in the SEC CG really helped the SEC overall that year although it knocked UT out of the NC game.

It really does hurt the SEC when it comes down to it. The voters give incredibly large kudo's to playing an SEC schedule but than rank the teams based on records only.

Actually its not very hard. The SECcg winner, loser, and 2nd place in each division have a very good chance (as long as they have 2 or less conference losses) to be top 10 as long as they win their bowl game.

It would have happened last year if Iowa's last pass falls incomplete.

2004-Auburn was 2, UGA was 6, and Iowa finished 8 after being ranked 2 spots behind us before the game(so its pretty safe to assume we would have been at least 8), Tenn was 13.
2003- LSU 1, UGA 7, Ole Miss 13 (top 10 if they beat Texas Tech or Memphis), Tenn 15 (was 6 but got beat in bowl)
2002- weak for the SEC, but 3 in top 14 (bama 14, auburn 11, UGA 3)
    2001- Florida 3, Tenn 4, LSU 7, and South Carolina 13
