Hey fellas, was reading the other thread about The Herd and thought maybe I would start another one regarding another Colin Cowherd on LSU moment. Didn't know many others listened to Colin. I like him, even if he is an admitted PAC10 & USC homer. He has a passion for college football that is pretty rare among most in the mainstream (ie. national) sports journalism world that always tends to focus on the Pros. Anyway, I listen to him nearly everyday. I have a recording of his comments on the Les Miles PAC10 vs SEC situation from last week. It's 9 minutes long.

I think you all will be surprised what he says, keep in mind he has always admitted that he's a PAC10 and especially USC fan (not sure why, I don't think he went there, and he lives near Bristol, CT). He even admits this again in the 11 minute segment he spent discussing this thing on July 5th broadcast. I noticed the guy even had a pic of him (in person) interviewing Pete Caroll on his ESPN page for nearly a month during the SUMMER. Normally the thing changes more often. Added: Here's the recordings from today's show (July 10th) where Colin ranks the Top 10 college football teams of the last decade, debates it with Ivan Maisel & Pat Forde, and then allows callers to share their opinions. This is the show that the other Colin Cowherd topic is referring to. I split them up into the three parts that were split by commercials but also merged them into a single mp3 since they followed one after the other and thus flow well.

He makes some nice points

 

That was great stuff. I especially liked what he said about the LSU/ND game being an embarrassment and looking, athletcially, like high school against the JV.




And about the Pac 10 vs Big 10: "At least the teams at the top are good".:hihi:

 

Thanks for posting this. I listen to him when in the car but miss many of his shows. Don't agree with us being the top program but still interesting to listen to it.

 

Cowherd only reason to subscribe to espnradio. Got all his shows

 

Hate Cowherd. Just because he's pro-LSU doesn't change my stance. He said some despicable things about the Saints and Louisiana after Katrina. He'll say whatever it takes to rile up the masses, but I don't think he researches his topics very well. Case and point is having LSU at No. 1 for the past 10 years. We've been great, but I don't think we're the best team over that stretch.

Actually we are both wrong, he appears to be from Washington according to Wikipedia. Regardless, he did start his career in journalism in Vegas.

I think he grew up in the PNW...Wash or Ore. But he was exposed to PAC-10 FB from an early age. He's worked in every corner of the states, though.
