Well I know I'm stepping in it but I thought this interesting. I'll even read caca' s posts. This report out of Science magazine posits that methane releases are slowing warming in the arctic.
To me climate change and man's part in this particular cycle is pretty clear. What I have always believed is that a rush to strong action is a mistake and that maintaining a strong free market economy was the most important path to a solution. The everlasting genius of man will bring us through in a much improved state. Only if we bottle it up with socialist so called solutions will we fail. So let's keep learning develop technology so we grow our way past the challenge.

Actually I've even consistent in my opinion. Global climate is always changing. We've just entered a period when man has a significant impact.
Just because that's happening doesn't mean we panic or more importantly give up our way of life. The solution to whatever Impact we cause is within our capacity to adapt to. Man has done it for 200,000 years or so. The best chance is a free market system that has the vitality to overcome.
You can have man influencing the climate and a free economy ar the same time.

I agree with "The best chance is a free market system that has the vitality to overcome." However there is no scientific proof certain man has any effect on climate. The earth is 4.5 billion years old and we have been measuring temp kind of accurately for a paultry 100 years, what the hell do we know?

We know the amount of CO2 in the atmosphere is near its highest in over 200,000 years and most is generated by man's actions. We see the beginning of effect of the accumulation
What we don't know is how bad it will be and the consequences it will have. However the panicked response by the global warming religious is not credible. The extreme measures they're touting will make things worse and likely kill billions of people. We need to understand there are several billion people who live in poverty and want a modern live. That will take an order of magnitude more energy. Conservation, wind, solar and the like will not support the energy demands the world has now much less the future needs. At best they help on the margins.
That being said continued reduction in coal use has merit. China and other parts of Asia show it is no longer a viable source. The damage it does is worse than any advantage it offers. Oil and especially natural gas are much more efficient and significantly cleaner. Nuclear power if it could get out from the onerous regulation and its own problems is a major potential. Development of electric cars, ships and even aircraft is nothing more than the advance of technology and should be welcomed. The ultimate goal is fusion power and that we haven't made it more of a priority is criminal.
We can't advance if we cut ourselves off by panick....neither can we advance if we don't see what we're doing.

Trump is conspiring with Russia to cool the planet, good conspiracy for you guys when the next ice age hits. The more CO2 the better for all life on earth but I forget the baby killing libs want less people on earth mainly white males but anyone in general. I know you are not one of those guys based on this response but if you did deep into the "green movement" killing off billions in their mine is OK. Ghia is their god they worhsip earth not earths creator. They are modern day pagans. Look into something called "deep ecology" and read some of their ideas you may understand a bit more how ignorant and evil these people are. If they were just everyday people they would be just a sideshow but they are in our governments around the globe in positions of power to do great harm.

Wake up Winston the Cimate Change and the green movement is the most hideous and destructive frauds in mans history. It will kill billions if not stopped.

The problem with Nuclear Power is human beings, I think with advancements in AI we could eventually see some nuclear power plants being run by artificial intelligence.
