http://sports.yahoo.com (Click on the More tab at top of sports page, then Football/NCAA, and see headlines) Another Miami player arrested. Antrel Rolle, one of Miami's best returning players, has been arrested for two misdemeanors and toe counts of battery against two policemen. Looks like a good candidated for Willie Williams' roommate  Also interesting article on Rick Neuheisel there.
It's an incredible thing, all of these players across the nation, including at LSU, getting into so much trouble. Granted these guys are more cocky than your average person, more confident also due to their size and ability, and more competitive. But it seems like more and more are getting arrested around the country. And I would bet you that the colleges are working with them now more than ever before on stuff like this.
Of course last year before the season started the top CB was Chris Gamble. Another reason pre-season hype means squat...
Trouble By no means am I taking up for any of these guys that get in trouble. But, as a young, popular, attractive athlete, their is soooo much jealousy, etc. on these guys. I've been in situations myself where I've had a few beers and let my ego get the best of me. Miami is a huge party place. There are lots and lots of temptations. There will be guys getting into trouble everywhere, even at LSU. But, look at the percentage. Most athletes on the college level, whether it's football, basketball, baseball - keep a level head. But, i'm sure it's tempting. Especially with the "I'm the man" attitudie. :lsug:
Basile, I agree but I see a difference between the hot shots out there having a good time and a student-athlete that a school is giving him the equivalent of big bucks for a scholly. If a guy can't be a good representative of his school, then he doesn't deserve a scholly. Give it to someone who values the education. In thsi case, it's even harder to justify his behavior where battery of police officers is charged.
Proud Tiger you're right and if all coaches including Saban would hand down really harsh penalties such as sitting out an entire year as well as cleaning the bathrooms in the dorms, picking up trash, working garbage details, etc., these guys would be more likely to be on their best behavior.
