This has the Ole Miss fans here in Mississippi pissed off because their paper covers LSU as much as it covers the Rebels. Any MS residents on TF know exactly what I'm saying. well, you could say that it is because gulf coast mississippi, and some of alabama are extensions of louisiana.. common heritage, culture, going all the way back to the first settlements.. the rest of mississippi and alabama are tied closer to north Louisiana.. they have a common culture from the westward migration from the Carolina's in the early 1800's...

A lot of the old buildings in the downtown area of Mobile, AL look like they could have been transplanted from New Orleans. Even a lot of the street names are the same as street names in NO. The similarity stops there. The food is nothing like New Orleans and the media coverage is all Alabama and Auburn.
