so let me get this straight you're making an argument against gun control in a hypothetical where you control how the gun got into the room, to make another point that people kill people, which doesn't really make the case against the initial argument. Again, your point has nothing to do with reality.

People are arguing for ban on high capacity magazines and the relative ease of access of getting these weapons.

"Gun control" is too broad of an argument for you to make this point, it doesnt hold weight.

Id rather be locked in a room with either hypothetical, I got a chance with either, neither scares me.
I never said the answer was getting rid of guns, I said your argument had nothing to do with reality and it doesnt. Controlling the access of guns and mental health could possibly prevented this one. That should be the argument and high capacity magazines and the ease of turning a civilian semi-auto into a full auto in 30 minutes.

I got to have my 9 year old stay the night last night and of course he got tired of the hugs and kisses...

No problem. By the same token, I'm not of the mind that unlimited access to guns is the way to go. We don't have that now, anyway.

17 children were killed by Timothy McVeigh in OKC, 8 children killed and 13 seriously wounded in Osaka Japan when Mamoru Takuma attacked with a kitchen knife, 8 children were killed during the 9/11 attacks. In all instances not a single shot was fired.

So to answer your question, probably not.

Not true. You can train yourself to manage them. Like the way you can stop being scared of heights with exposure therapy.

I knew that already, I'm just hoping for an epiphany in others.

The whole of the blame rests on the mother...

Blame for sure, but not all of it. Some kids you just can't reach.

From some of the news i've seen reports say she was considering having her son committed and was well aware of his mental state. To not remove weapons and ammo from the environment of a suspected nut job is careless. Had she removed the weapons we'd be seeing him in jail for stabbing his mother to death not killing almost 30 people.
