Arming teachers is just a scary thought. Some of the teachers I had and some of the people I went to school with who are teachers now.. I'd barely trust them with car keys.
I second that on a different level. Some of the teachers that I had would have surely shot/shot at me. I remember walking down the hall with my schedule one year at orientation. This was my Jr year in HS I believe. Just so happened I had a class with a teacher that I had a class with my 8th grade year as well. He shut the door, locked it and would not let me in. Just kept saying "NO!, This cannot be happening"
Not o ly are the teachers incompetent to have guns, the kids shouldn't be around the guns at all. The solution is fewer guns, never more guns.
Crazies are part of life. All we can do is identify them, get them treatment, get them on meds, and lock them up in a facility if absolutely necessary. We can make them ineligible to buy or possess guns for heavens sake. We can reduce the number of military weapons out there so that they can't turn a murder into a mass murder so easily.
That is just the problem. If we arm teachers it will be just a matter of time before a teacher shoots a student. Or a student gets his hands on a teachers weapon and shoots a teacher or other students.
