1. Love or hate him Saban was telling the truth. The fans are looking for a true playoff. I prefer the way 1-AA does it but the folks in charge would never agree to it. The four best teams need to be in this format. Determining who that is when they don't play common opponents in most cases is the isssue.
  2. The other conferences will never go along with that.
  3. They will have to accept the best 4 teams. They would be seen as rigging the playoffs so that they would always have a team in the field.
  4. No matter what format is used someone is going to get their feelings hurt.

I do believe that each conference champion should be involved in a playoff scenario, though, even the usual BCS non qualifying conferences (ie MWC, MAC, C-USA etc.)
  5. You would have to enlarge it to 8 or more to make that work. Even at 16 teams (1-AA), you still have teams bitch that they we left out. There has to be cutoff point. The NFL has a much better system because the teams have common opponents. In college you have to go by the polls and what ever point system they come up with to determine the teams.
  6. Seriously? What if that conference champion is a 6 win team? That is preposterous.

  7. The SEC should go to 24 teams and crown our own National Champion - the SEC champ is the BCSNC after all. only slightly tongue in cheek
  8. I liked the SEC more when it actually was teams from the southeast.
