    The 2004 Nokia Sugar Bowl featuring LSU and Oklahoma was the most-watched network sportscast of 2004. The National Championship game earned a 14.8 rating (16 million households), higher than Game 1 of the World Series and Game 5 of the NBA Finals.

    Really that's good.
    It seems like I heard that the USC people claiming the rose bowl had higher ratings but I am glad to know this is not the case.

    Wait a minute there, I forgot where I read it, but I remembered reading that it was one of the least watched nc games in recent years. Now that I think of it, it was in SI, go figure...
