Anybody else feel like we've been used the last 4 years?

It really disturbs me that we've had a run and now there is a good chance we are looking for a new coach for the 3rd time in 5 years.

It's strange that both coaches couldn't consider this the place where they wanted to hang their professional hats for a considerable amount of time. I'm of course assuming CLM will leave. If offered the job there is no way he turns it down.

I hope Sean O'Keefe and Skip make this part of the interview discussion this time around. I'd put a hefty buyout clause (more than the 1.25 million) that CLM will have to pay to get out of this contract.

Frustrating, yes. But the way of the world. I think the days of multiple long-term coaches at elite programs around the country are long gone. Look at their records - not good of late. Anyone asking JoPa or Bowden to take a head coaching job? Uh - no. I agree they change WAY too often at LSU, but we shouldn't be shooting for a twenty year deal.

I agree, it doesn't bother me much. I much prefer getting a great coach to getting someone who will be loyal. Maybe a loyal candidate that could meet our expectations isn't out there. Eventually we may get our guy, but until then I want to keep playing at a high level. Limiting yourself for stability I think would be undesirable.

I cant fault Miles the least bit. This is his dream job, this would be like one of us coaching at a great college like Michigan and the LSU job becoming available. Its not like he is a snake like Satan was at both jobs. I really wish him well. He did a lot for LSU, he loves it here. Its just his dream job came up, I dont blame him for taking it. Hell, eventhough he lied, I never blamed Satan for trying his shot at the NFL. My hatred grew for him when he did the same thing and lied two years later to leave Miami.

I just hope Bertman really does have a plan so we can name a big named coach soon so we dont lose any more recruits, as well as so we can stay in contention for some of the big time ones left out there.

Ill say this though, I just hope that with the whirlwind finally behind Miles actually comes focused for this game and actually coaches. Which means a LSU win. Come Les, go out with a bang:milesmic:

No, I don't feel like we have been used. I have always felt Miles would leave for Michigan. What I don't like is his talk about being focused on this team and this game, but he somehow already has a D Coordinator for Michigan. Doesn't sound like he was too concerned about his current players...

"seen in Atlanta" --- a black pickup decked out in Tennessee orange pulled into the Georgia Dome parking lot. A sign was painted on the back: "840 Miles to Knoxville...630 Miles to Atlanta...1 Miles to Ann Arbor" :geaux: :crystal:
