    HEAD COACH NICK SABAN
(on the win) “It was obviously a great win for our team. It was really a great team win. Both sides of the ball played extremely well.”

(on the running game) “We had great balance on offense, in terms of our ability to run the ball. (We had) almost 180 yards. Ronnie (Brown) getting a hundred and Ricky (Williams) almost getting a hundred. (We were) very effective using both of those guys today. I think we’re learning and growing on how we do that.”

(on the passing game) “I though Gus (Frerotte) did a nice job of managing the offense. He made some good throws today. He got some pressure at times, but did a really good job.”

(on a complete game) “I was pleased with our ability to possess the ball and keep the ball offensively, which I think was something that has been absent. We did a nice job on defense, especially on third down. I think they (Saints) were 0 for 10, or something like that, which is a real critical thing for us in terms of getting off of the field. It was a great team win. Special teams did a nice job today.”

(on returning to Tiger Stadium) “It’s great to come back to Tiger Stadium. I really do have to say something…that I really tried to make this about our team, you know, coming back here to play. But, the people have been so wonderful, relative to the kind of reception that we’ve been given…Teri, Nicholas, Kristen, myself and everything that we’ve done. The class of LSU to put this venue on the way that they did (was fabulous). It’s just been wonderful. I really do feel like this was coming home to play a game. It was exciting for me, even though I did not say it. It was exciting to be back in Tiger Stadium today. I feel really great that our team did a nice job to make us proud of how they played in Tiger Stadium today. Special thanks to all the supporters who made all the things happen while we were here so wonderfully well that were so positive about our return today. I really do appreciate that class that this institution and the people of the state of Louisiana showed myself and my family in coming back here.

(on his thoughts on the LSU backdrop on the wall behind him) “Looks good.”

(on pressuring Aaron Brooks and the Saints offense) “We thought that pressure was going to be something that was going to be important in the game. We did a nice job of executing the pressure. He was very athletic. He got away from us a few times and actually scrambled there at the end of the game and made a big play. Fortunately, we were able to get out of the drive. These games are never over when you have those types of skill players on the field. I think the Saints have outstanding receivers with lots of speed and ability to strike quickly. We thought affecting the quarterback was going to be a real key for us in this game.”

(on the best we’ve played all year) “This is probably the best we’ve played together all year as a team on both sides of the ball.”

Aaron Brooks also expressed his appreciation to LSU. He knelt down in the endzone and paid homage:

As you can see, even the referee decided to join in and started making a praying gesture.

  5. Tirk needs to use Aaron in his avatar instead of the joker

doesnt it seem like a lot of teams play their best game of the season against the saints?

    dolphins, vikings, packers... it's a re-occuring pattern

If you are in a slump, have a long losing streak, have woes at the qb position, can't stop anyone on defense, can't force turnovers, have not scored a touchdown in several quarters, or are just scouting for new players to trade for that can do well on your team, then play the Saints and it will all be taken care of!

  9. Like Jimmy Ott said about Miss State...... playing the Saints does a body good.
