  2. I had just turned 12 and was just getting into LSU football. Heard the call on the radio and couldn't believe it at first. I think it was a couple of days before I saw the film clip on the news.

  4. I had graduated from LSU the previous year and was listening to the game in uptown N.O. in the front room of the home of the girl friend of my best friend who was working that night. It was a relatively warm night and the front door was open. When Cannon scored, I could hear people out in the street yelling, so I went out on the porch and joined in. The rest of the game was a nail biter as Ole Miss moved closer and closer to our goal line, but, of course, failed to score.
  5. I was 6, my dad was listening to the game in the kitchen, I was in the living room. All of a sudden, Dad started yelling in the kitchen. I ran in to see what happened, and he told me Bill Cannon had returned a punt for a touchdown to beat Ole Miss. Too bad I didn't know what a punt was. But it was that night that I became a Tiger fan!
