Dylan Moses and Ed Alexander are two of the state's best young prospects
For those who are not familiar with a junior day, the biggest misconception out there is that this resembles summer camps. However, there are no workouts and the extent of anything physical is that the staff is allowed to get a current height and weight on each prospect that attends the event.
Instead of a workout, this day focuses on familiarizing the student-athlete and his family and coaches with more of the academic side of what LSU offers, and prospects will get extended alone time with their position coach or area recruiter.
Registration normally gets started around around 11 a.m.
Les Miles will address the group before the prospects start to break off into individual meetings with position coaches. They will listen to the coaches talk about LSU and some specifics on their position as well as watch some film.
Once that is completed, the next phase is tours of the LSU campus, which includes the Cox Communications Academic Center for Student-Athletes, along with the opportunity to meet with advisors for their prospective major. That is always one of the most talked about parts of the tours that prospects and parents rave about the most.
The guests will also get a good look at the athletic facilities and have lunch in Tiger Stadium.
Sandwiched in between those tours can be a one-on-one meeting with Miles - where potential new offers may go out.
Some of the prospects and families will attend the basketball game against Alabama at 5 p.m., while others will hang around the LSU Indoor Facility to mingle with the coaches and their families.
Last year, LSU landed a commitment from
Isaiah Washington and
Stephen Sullivan at Boys from the Boot. Four days later, Jazz Ferguson and
David Ducre jumped on the offers they landed from attending the event.
This year, the hype surrounding the 2016 class is already at a fever pitch.
So, which prospects got the invitation and are now expected to be on campus?
