This is nothing short of hilarious if true. Imagine RP or Keiland Williams trying to have their parents dictate offensive philosophy to Les Miles and his staff. Not possible. Who is in charge over there? "The meeting centered on whether Arkansas offensive coordinator Gus Malzahn will get more say in how the offense is run, Rick Cleveland said, and if it will be more pass-oriented." http://www.wholehogsports.com/adg/175675/
Wow, that has got to be great for recruiting. By the way, thank goodness we don't have to hire a coach to get the top recruits from an in state school.
The above quote is from the ESPN article. Seems Springdale High thought they were coming in to take over the Razorback program. I guess they had never heard of two guys named McFadden and Jones. This is pathetic. Nutt should cut them all loose....or catch the next train out of Hogtown. That program is a circus.
If the boys wanted to go to a school where receivers catch 60 balls a year, they should have come to LSU, so they could sit and watch our receivers catch 60+ balls a years. They could have maybe even touched the boot. This is ridiculous. This isn't high school. These are supposedly young MEN we're dealing with here. It's bad enough when parents get involved in little league and pee-wee sports. Originally Posted by TXTigahFan Wow, that has got to be great for recruiting. You're right. Add Rudy Macklin / Ron Abernathy to the list. Goes on all the time. This Arkansas thing is a mess. First, Nutt hired the Springdale coach to get the players. To think otherwise is naive. Some were committed elsewhere and others still taking visits. Promises were made to the kids, parents, and the coach. Not the first time a HC fibbed a little during recruiting. Kids are upset. Parents are upset. Broyles makes it worse by giving an audience to the parents. As for Nutt, well, you reap what you sow.:dis:
I'm having some fun with this story up here. I especially like this part: "It was agreed by all parties involved that the head coach has the valid right to determine the direction of the program and the manner in which the team would develop," she said. Really!?!? You mean the head coach can actually decide how to run the team. I'm shocked.
Nutt needs to grow a pair. Why in the hell does he have to meet with parents for anything other than academics. Can someone please bump this thread the week of November 24th 2007.
