1. Around the SEC – Ainge to have surgery - Henig status unknown at MSU
    • Knoxville, TN - the Nashville, Tennessee Tennessean is reporting that UT quarterback Erik Ainge has torn meniscus (cartilage) in his knee and will have surgery either now or after spring practice is over. Ainge said he thinks he damaged the knee in the weight room. UT has been installing a no huddle offense this spring, but with Ainge's injury, things may change.
    • Nashville, TN - last Friday night (March 2, 2007) Vanderbilt’s David price struck out 13 in a 3-2 win over Xavier. Price (3-0 on the season) limited Xavier to four base runners on three hits, went the distance on a 127 pitch performance while posting double-digit strikeouts for his third straight win. Price now has 41 strikeouts in 26 innings of play for the season.
    • Starkville, MS – Josh Riddell, an Oregon native who transferred to MSU this year from Foothill College (Calif. junior college) saw his stock rise in the competition for MSU's starting quarterback job. Coach Croom has openly expressed concern about Riddell’s ability in drop back passing because he played exclusively a shotgun offense in junior college. But, MSU’s starting quarterback, Michael Henig spent last Friday in the training room with back spasms and Riddell has been taking most of the first team snaps in practice. Quarterback Tray Rutland left the team last week.

  2. I hate that for Ainge. I'm not very fond of Tennessee, but you gotta feel bad for the guy if he ends up missing a substantial amount of time.
  3. Why in the world would Ainge want to wait until Spring practice is over if he won't be playing next fall?

The longer he waits, the longer he will just extend the amount of time he will be in rehab down the road.

I have a feeling that Fulmer knew this all along and simply didn't want it known before signing day.

If Ainge can't play, Tennessee will probably end up about 4th in the SEC East.
  4. Didn't he have an injury coming in to the LSU game?? Can't remember what exactly.
  5. I know he had one afterwards! And yes, I think he did have one coming in to the game. If I'm not mistaken, he did not finish the game. I know for a fact that JR and Early DID finish the game.:hihi:

  6. It was his ankle that gave him some trouble during the year. Before the Tenn game I told a Vol fan on this board to watch out for Big Glenn Dorsey tweaking that ankle again. What do you know, Dorsey has a nice ankle tackle for a sack and hurt the other ankle.
  7. Doesnt the phat one have a major stud recruit from last year waiting in the wings? I thought I remembered that but cant remember his name.

I hate it for Ainge but as far as tinysee phatso goes, fug em and feed em fish heads I say. I hate that lying sack of whale blubber.
  8.   What have I ever done to YOU??!!!
  9. You are correct, He decided to miss the rest of spring practice and is expected to return to practice sometime in June.:thumb:
  10. That was the funniest thing about it!! (although I shouldnt say that)
