From AP and other press reports from the area ----

Fayetteville — Arthroscopic knee surgery performed Monday on wide receiver Marcus Monk indicates he won't practice with the Razorbacks at least these next four weeks. Monk will miss the Razorbacks' Sept. 1 season opener against Troy because of cartilage damage and is questionable for Arkansas' Sept. 15 SEC opener at Alabama. He may out until October 1.

Oxford – Coach Orgeron reports Monday that Ole Miss receiver Mico McSwain won't be academically eligible to rejoin the team this season.

Auburn – Auburn starting center, Jason Bosley hurt his left knee in practice but the extent of the injury is unknown at this time – however Auburn does not have a backup with any playing experience at the position. This followed backup quarterback Neil Caudle suffering a Grade II shoulder separation and being out until the middle of September.

    AU's biggest losses were:

Tristan Davis, RB/KR - led nation in ko returns last season, lost 6-8 weeks with a broken toe

Steve Gandy, LB - probable starter, concussions, lost for season

Bosley's knee is just bruised. The brace saved his and AU's butt.
