Zeringue, a junior, is chasing the Tigers' career batting record, leading the SEC with a .419 average. Only three LSU players have hit .400 in a season, led by Russ Johnson's .410 average in 1994.

Think they meant to say single season record although I'm surprised that with all of the great players we've had no one has hit higher than .410 before.
