http://www.sportsline.com/collegefootball/story/8809703 No. 20 Arizona State, coming off a 63-16 home victory over Temple on Thursday night, will donate all of its post-expenses gate receipts to the relief effort. "We invite people in the southeastern area to plan to come to Tempe for Saturday evening," O'Keefe said. "It's going to be a great contest, and there's no doubt in my mind it will produce an outcome that we're all going to be very impressed with." The Tigers also will visit Tempe on Sept. 6, 2008, under the home-and-home original agreement. The athletic departments are working to schedule a makeup game in 2006 or 2007 that will require Arizona State to play in Baton Rouge. "That will be an additional game without a return trip," Arizona State senior associate athletic director Tom Collins said. He estimated the game could generate $1 million in relief funds.
I think thast a classy move. I think its fair that this doesnt count as there game in the home and home considering that they will make no money from it.
Yep......very classy on their part. I'm actually impressed.....considering some of the assinine fans that were saying LSU was making excuses not to have to play ASU.
This game "could" generate $1 million in revenue?? That doesn't seem very impressive to me... Is this after refunding LSU season ticket holders? Do they not think they can sell out the stadium with such short notice? I hope we fill the stadium with Tiger fans, making it almost a home game & generate a couple more million for the Katrina relief!
LSU season ticket holders will not be refunded. They will get the amount pro-rated towards their 2006 season tickets. Only people who purchased single game tickets (non season ticket holders) can get a refund. If you want confirmation of this, call the LSU ticket office right now and listen to the recorded message.
