At least the AU fans still believe in this team

    The refs sucked,

    The running game sucked,

There was some questionable play calling,

but our boys played their hearts out against a very good AU team today. Even in a loss, I'm sure we'll gain a lot of respect.

Yes, we have an uphill battle now. So what, we've done it before. AU is one injury away from dropping a couple. If anything happens to Irons or Cox (and , believe it or not, I'm not praying for them to get hurt) they're sunk. Let's see it play out.

Don't jump ship now. This was indeed a heart breaking loss, but there have been worse. The '02 Arkansas game comes to mind. Here's the bad news,..there will be more.

We play at home next weekend. We can gather, once again, with our closest friends, drink, and be merry. There are still a lot of games to be played, and a lot of fun to be had. We all knew that this schedule would be very, very difficult.

It's no one else's fault that we lost but our own. Even with the bad breaks, we should have scored more points.

    Geaux Tigers!!!

I don't think criticizing things which deserve criticism qualifies as jumping ship.

Coaching credentials aside, the fans can clearly see which players are effective and which aren't, and when the coaches continue to play said players regardless of their on-field ineffectiveness... well, the result is simply :angryfire

Good post. If I was Tulane, I would give some serious thought to having the buses break down permanently on the way to Baton Rouge.

    Great post, Salty!

We gotta pull ourselves together. It's ok to go a little crazy for a couple of hours, but we already spit out most of the points that need to be made, and you know what, nothing is going to change.

Our team has 9 more games, we better get behind them, they need us.

Yeah, I am not going to jump ship, but I am p*ssed at the ref crew for sure. Thanks for posting that crap from AU fans. ;) (not really) But seriously, how do those *******s justify that last PI call being over-turned? There is no way to justify it. At least have the stones to say, "the refs F'd up and we benefited; what can I say?" Be a man about it. :angryfire

A lot of them are saying that. They know, as well as us, that they got lucky today. Luck is a big part of it.

Well, for those who are saying that, I have to respect that. I expected less from them, to be honest with you. But there is more than just that one play. All of the poor calls are chronicled here. It's just very frustrating to have a game like this get settled (by the refs) like this. What a fantastic September matchup, only to get hosed by refs with their new IR toy (and they can't even figure out how to play with their toy).

Maybe we can be like USC and claim our championship no matter how many games we win this year.
We could be worse off, look at CU, not sure if they can win a game this year.
I'm positive, we've had worse seasons than this, I couldn't believe just how good AU's defense was in this game nevermind the calls.
I didn't think any defense in the SEC was close to ours but they certainly are.
Its a shame that we don't get to play them twice like in basketball.
