#5 LSU This Tigers recruiting class is as solid as they come. They worked hard to build around a national championship caliber team. With the loss of their leaders on offense and defense (JaMarcus Russell and LaRon Landry), LSU brought in players that can play right away. Terrence Tolliver and Chad Jones head up a loaded 2007 class. The Tigers added depth to their defensive front, signing five defensive lineman including Sidell Corley and Drake Nevis. LSU also continues to bring in more athletes with five signees under that distinction. The Tigers have filled much-needed holes with the best class that Les Miles and staff have ever recruited. Will it pay off with a national championship? Impact Player: Chad Jones, ATH (S), Baton Rouge, La. Jones has a blend of size and speed that is unreal and has the ability to play almost any position on the football field. He's dangerous with the ball in his hands on offense or without it on defense. Jones is the home run hitter in this class both figuratively and literally — he's also one of the top baseball prospects in the country. Jones is a young man with great character and should be the face of LSU football for years to come. Sleeper: Drake Nevis, DT, Marrero, La. It is hard to call Nevis a sleeper due to his amazing talent. He is a hard working player that will likely find himself in the lineup in his second year. He is strong up the middle using his low center of gravity to push himself through the line. Nevis has great quickness and acceleration at his size. He could anchor this defensive line in a few years. Article here: http://www.athlonsports.com/college-football/10549/2007-recruiting-class-no-5-lsu
