AU game cancellation gossip

Discussion in 'The Tiger's Den' started by LSUBayouBengals, Sep 14, 2004.

  1. I have no idea if this is true or not but a guy on another board is telling everyone that he just heard on the radio that the governor of AL overrode AU and postphoned the game till Nov. Anyone hear anything like this?

Haven't heard that but it will be the smartest thing this governor has done all term. I usually get along with Auburn fans better than Bama fans while I have been living in Bama. However, I have lost a lot of respect in the last couple years for Auburn due to Tuberville.

Officials Continue to Monitor Ivan, University Closed
    09/14/04

BATON ROUGE -- LSU, Auburn and Southeastern Conference officials continue to monitor the path of Hurricane Ivan, but no changes have been announced in the status of the LSU vs. Auburn football game on Saturday at 2:30 p.m.

The LSU Tigers are scheduled to leave Baton Rouge Friday at 4:15 p.m.

LSU announced Tuesday that the University will be closed on Wednesday and Thursday, however that decision has no impact on the status of the football game at Auburn Saturday.

If there is any change in the status of the football game it would likely not take place until Thursday, or at the latest very early Friday morning, after officials have had an opportunity to review the impact of Hurricane Ivan by that time.

if you check out the front page of the AUBURN website it says that the school is closed through Friday, but no decision has been made regarding the football game.
