I've kind of hung out the past few days, reading many of your posts and replaying parts of the game in my mind.

Many of you make compelling arguments about what happened and why, and why we shouldn't be overly upset or concerned. I don't doubt your sincerity, either.

Problem is, for me, that I *am* upset, still, some four days later. About the only thing that I admire about the game is the stand-up way the coaches are basically covering for their guys (Jimbo's admission of poor play calling and Saban's comment to the effect of how they looked like "seals" out there, flopping around on that field).

I'm not saying Fisher should be absolved totally because, hell, some of those calls sucked (the reverse on 3rd and 2 from their, what, 25 yd line had me cursing all night long. I remember some drunken rant about "Real f*ing men line up and bust it between the tackles in a situation like that and get that yard, Jimbo!" :cuss: ), but there's no "catch the ball that hits you between the numbers" pass play that Jimbo or anyone else can call in any game, ever.

Footing was bad, you say? What, is this the Ole Miss 2003 game all over again? At least back then they had the sense to blame the shoes as well as the field.

Anyways, bottom line is I still feel like crap. I still feel that old, pre-2003, all too familiar sense of talented LSU teams of the past playing down to the level of inferior (well-coached and motivated, but still inferior) competition. Yes, I even had a flashback to the night I sat, as a 14 year old, on my living room floor listening to LSU getting whacked by some Ohio school called Miami.

A 66-0 rout won't make me feel any better by Sunday, either.

That 2:30 pm kickoff from the Plains on September 18 can't get here fast enough for me. :geaux:

(PS-For those of you I saw leaving the stadium early to mid-4th quarter, I quote a little Monty Python in your honor, "I fart in your general direction." . Oh ye of little faith.)

I felt pretty bad for a couple days after the game. It's the same way I felt after I watched Va Tech beat LSU to open the season a couple years ago. The real difference though is somehow, some way, this group of young kids found a way to win the ballgame this time. I've said since that now I am simply elated that they won!!!

......... but I will still feel a lot better having a team like Auburn (even though they are no Georgia or Florida) to play against as a measure of what LSU is really made out of.

Does anybody know what sections of Jordan-Hare Stadium are the designated visiting team sections? I'm just wondering because I want to try and get tickets, but I'd much rather be around LSU fans, for obvious reasons.

the nice thing here is that this team is as talented as it gets...but just like an NFL team....you can't just replace 4 year starters (or as in the nfl, vets) that you lose and expect others to pick right up where the others left overnight. This game was awfully played in all facets by the entire team, save Kyle Williams....not sure how spears gets a gameball but KW does not.

Yes, you want answers but sometimes the truth isn't sufficient. We stunk up the joint with our execution...our coaches didn't seem to adjust til very late....OSU played their asses off....Derrek Anderson and that TE are mudders....We need gametime experience for JaMarcus.....We won and are 1-0.

relax, we may take some lumps but Rome wasn't built overnight.

Well let's everybody shed a crocodile tear for TejasTiger. The Tigers failed to live up to his expectations thereby not validating his obviously meager existence.

This is what you do ...

Go there in jeans and "cowboy up" and wear AU colors ... stick with me here cuz ...

Look for the guy with a big "block" of seats ... don't settle for anything less than 6 ... the best I've done is about 15 seats

Buy all the tickets ... head over to the LSU side ...

make your announcement and recruit the drunkest, rowdiest, craziest mofos you can find ... man, you'll have a great time ... especially midway thru the 3rd quarter ... that's when they start bailing outta there ... especially if that LSU ground game is chewing up that rookie D-line.
