GRRRRREAT..... Just what I wanted to see.... Man, what does that say about the level of competition in the SEC when the 7th seed in the Tourny has seen their name listed in the top 25 this season???? Impressive.
If we are going advance to Omaha, we will have to beat top flight pitching. Why not now? If we do lose, is it adios a top 8 seed?
Problem is LSU's motif all year long is to get mowed down by the other teams ACE pitchers. LSU is not a very disciplined hitting team. They swing at a lot of junk pitches. You have to be very patient at the plate and build up a pitching count against ace pitchers. Get them out of the game and then pounce on their bullpen. LSUDAN
HA! That's been their motif the past 3 years. They would absolutely demolish average pitching. But when the ace steps in, you hear nary a ding. Good example: that kid from Baylor in the '03 super regional, game 1.
I think we did considerable damage to our chances today. If we lose, you can just about forget it. If we go two and out, we need to pull for Ole Miss to advance as far as they can. Their RPI is high enough that they could pull off a top 8 seed, and there's a good chance the NCAA might pair up our regional w/ theirs...and we already know that we can take two out of three at their place.
Just heard on Radio that there is a chance that UT will save the ACE for Friday to keep him on his regular Rotation. Not confirmed though. Don't see how they can not pitch him being an elimination game.
