http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/bowls05/news/story?id=2269103 Sean Bailey was/is a great player to watch... and a big part of Georgia's offense. this will hurt. I sill think Georgia has too much for WV but, as my nephew from Missouri would say, this will make it "evener".
It is hard to tell what impact this will actually have. Bailey was one of those receivers who was either on or off. He had some games where he would catch almost everything, and other games where he would drop relatively easy to catch balls. (sound familiar?) The sad part about this is that he is borderline NFL material, and this may very well affect his career situation. In the big picture, Georgia still has a talent advantage so WVU is going to have to play very well and catch a few breaks to have a shot at winning.
Yep, I just hate to see teams play missing key guys. Penn State also will not have that #2, Derrick Williams, who broke his arm... outstanding talent... like a Prothro. Why doesn't this happen at, say, USC?
I really don't consider Bailey to be a key guy. AJ Bryant, who is faster than Bailey, will get some playing time and it won't amount to a significant talent drop off. The Penn State - FSU game is going to be very interesting. Bowden may actually resort to some trick plays like he used back in the 80s. I remember one play in particular that Bowden used at Ann Arbor in 1991. A throw back to the QB and then a convoy to the end zone. FSU put 51 points on the board against Michigan that day. If FSU can get some of their special teams problems figured out, it may end up being a very close game.
The barn game was full of, "what if this or what if that," kind of plays. The barn definately used up some 'luck' in that game. I'll be surprised if they don't put up some big numbers against Wisconsin. Barry Alvarez probably isn't going out the way he might prefer.
Auburn will crush Wisconsin. The Wissies folded down the stretch without their DE and DT....plus, they can't even sell their ticket allotment... embarassing!!!
